Istanbul is a very large metropolis and it has a many green areas. Thanks to these, it is a very important center in terms of forests and green parks. Although it is put into words that there are not many green areas, it is known that there are important forests in this city.
These forests meet the need of oxygen of Istanbul and at the same time they provide unique picnic areas for people living both in Istanbul. The existence of small and large forests both in European and Anatolian sides offers recreational areas for numerous people.

Alemdağ Forest

It creates maybe the largest woodland of Anatolian side. Alemdağ Forest, which is located in Çekmeköy, ranges from the Anatolian side in parallel with Marmara Sea. There are Sultançiftliği and Taşlıtepe Forest next to the Alemdağ Forest that is situated on the Ömerli Dam basin.

Aydos Forest

Aydos Forest is another green area of Anatolian side. It is situated in the north part of Kartal district. This forest is the remaining part of a large forest from the past. Around Aydos Forest there are Kartal, Pendik and Sultanbeyli districts. At the same time, it is a fantastic picnic area.

Belgrad Forest

Belgrad Forest is a very large green area lying social anxiety disorder and valium approximately 15 kilometers north of Istanbul. Kayışdağı Forest

Kayışdağı Forest situated between Ataşehir and Maltepe is a large natural habitat with thousands of wild animals. At the same time, it is an important picnic area and this forest makes the region in which it situates more attractive.

Sultançiftliği Taşlıtepe Forest

It is situated in a military zone in Çekmeköy. Therefore, it is always under protection. This forestland extends over Black Sea. The only obstacle for its being an important recreational area is that it is situated in a military zone.

Above we have mentioned the most important green and forestry areas in Istanbul. Although there are also many green and recreational areas apart from those mentioned, these are the most visited forestlands by people.
