How to get to Cappadocia from Istanbul

There many different alternatives to get to Cappadocia from Istanbul. You can define your direction as you wish. However, we can say that the most beautiful one is getting there with your own car.

 With private car:

You get to Ankara by using Izmit-Adapazarı highway. There are now two alternatives to get to Cappadocia from Ankara. One of them is the Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Nevşehir, Cappadocia direction from Samsun highway and the other one is Gölbaşı, Koçhisar, Aksaray, Nevşehir, Cappadocia direction from Konya highway. While you are driving through Aksaray, there can be a traffic jam because of articulated vehicles.
On Kırşehir road there can be track distortions. By using Kırşehir direction you can visit the tomb of Haci Bektas Veli.
There are caravansaries, salt late (Tuz Gölü) and Ihlara. This journey takes approximately 9-10 hours.

 How to get to Cappadocia by bus?

It is possible to get to Cappadocia from Istanbul Esenler and Harem bus terminals by choosing a bus company. Metro, Nevşehir Travel, Öncü Göreme tourism organize bus services to Cappadocia. It takes approximately 10 hours to get to Cappadocia by bus.

 How to get to Cappadocia by train?

You can first go from Haydarpaşa to Kayseri by train then from here you need to use the buses. It is a bit complicated to get to Cappadocia from Istanbul by train but if you love travelling by train, this is the best option for you. It takes 14-15 hours to arrive Cappadocia.

 How to get to Cappadocia by using airlines?

Cappadocia is a touristic center. For this reason there are direct flights to Cappadocia from Istanbul. Nevşehir airport is nearly 30 km away from Cappadocia. In terms of time it is more logical to choose airlines for transportation. It takes approximately 1 hour to arrive Cappadocia by plane.
