Tuzla is located the South of Istanbul and is the output of Istanbul. Tuzla has neither too nor less crowded population. Briefly, the district has a feature of being middle- grade population. Tuzla joined the Ottoman Empire in 1400 and today we have this district. The Greeks were the former population of Tuzla. However, as a result of the Lausanne Treaty were exchanged with the Turks in Greece and were placed Thessaloniki, Kavala and Drama Turks in Tuzla.
Fishing and farming were the main source of livelihood of the people in Tuzla. The most important factors of Tuzla, located in the coast and established on fertile land, provide the development of fishing and farming. Also, the first Formula-1 runway of our country is located in Tuzla. At the end of long efforts the runway has been completed and opened in 2005. Placed in Tuzla the runway provide to attract tourists and to be important district for around world. Transportation is easy in there. It is possible to use IDO sea ferries, highways, train. The largest airport in Istanbul, Sabiha Gökçen Airport, is close and enables to travel to everywhere.
